How is a student Nominated for the program?
Usually a student is nominated by a teacher, social worker, or guidance counselor. School staff contacts parents / guardians to discuss the program possibilities.
How is he / she matched with a mentor?
Our office staff receives some basic details from school staff about students being nominated to the program. Students are generally matched with mentors who have similar interests or backgrounds.
How are mentors screened?
Our office staff obtains background checks and personal references. 90% of our new mentors come from personal recommendations of our current mentors.
What can I do if I feel my child would benefit from having a mentor?
Contact your child's teacher, social worker or guidance counselor if you feel he / she would be a good candidate for mentoring.
